The Windsor Jr. Spitfires organization is incredibly proud to announce that U14 AAA Head Coach Mark Turner has been selected for induction into the ECHL Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2026.
Born and raised here in Windsor, Coach Turner’s journey from a local standout to a professional hockey icon is a testament to the dedication he now instills in our young athletes. This prestigious honor recognizes a stellar professional career that saw him dominate at the ECHL level.
A Pro Career by the Numbers Turner was an offensive force during his eight seasons in the ECHL. Averaging over a point per game, he recorded an impressive 546 points (210 goals, 336 assists) in just 528 career games. His scoring prowess places him among the league's all-time greats:
He suited up for several franchises, including the Columbus Chill, New Orleans Brass, Greensboro Generals, and Toledo Storm, but perhaps his most dominant campaign came with the Mobile Mysticks in 1999-2000, where he scored a remarkable 45 goals.
Developing the Next Generation Since hanging up his skates, Mark has returned his focus to his hometown, serving previously on the coaching staff for the OHL Windsor Spitfires and LaSalle Vipers. Now, as the Head Coach of the Windsor Jr. Spitfires U14 AAA team, he brings that same Hall of Fame caliber experience to the bench, developing the skills and character of our 2012-born players.
The official induction ceremony will take place on Monday, January 19, 2026, in Allen, Texas, during the ECHL All-Star festivities.
Please join us in congratulating Coach Turner on this well-deserved achievement!
