Hey all, To help in yours sons development Todd had asked if the coaches could review game tapes with the boys. We've worked it out and are even taking it a step further by providing the boys access to the vidos through a site called Dropbox.
In order to gain access to the videos (which works on any semi-recent apple product and most others), just click on the link sent in the email, you'll have to register (free) and install the pc or mac "APP" by clicking on "Add to My Dropbox", top right of the screen. It's pretty easy to use if you choose to.
Once the app is installed and you've gone through the intro stuff, the videos should automatically download to your machine, approx 250Mb/period. You may not want to try this if you are on dialup. iProducts and Androids also have a free app you can install. I've also added a folder in Dropbox called “Photos Parents Want to Share”, in case you want to drop in any photos you’ve taken throughout the season that you want to s hare with other team members.
It is my intenstion to have games uploaded within a couple of days of receiving the camera after each game, which depends on how long it takes to convert them to something internet transferable and upload speeds.
The free account is limited to 2Gig. Which should be enough, if you manage it. To manage it once you have reached your limit you can deselect the folders/games you’ve already watched or copied out of, by doing the following;
- selecting the dropbox icon from within the taskbar
- then selecting “preferences” from the popup menu
- advanced tab/selective sync”
- then navigate the file tree to deselect the game folder you don’t need anymore.
By doing this It will automatically remove those files from your machine and your account to free up more space for new games.
