Border City Cup
The Windsor Spitfire 98's participated in the Border City Cup from October 5-7, 2012 at the WFCU. The team started slowly and finished the round robin qualifier playing their cross town rivals, Sun County Panthers. In this game the Spitfires played a tough and gritty hockey game only to be tied 2-2 with 21 seconds left in the game. The contest ended tied which was followed by a 3 player shootout. The shootout resulted in Sun County getting the extra point and placing 2nd and Windsor 3rd.
The semi final game was a repeat performance against Sun County. The boys came out strong and competed hard. The game was back and forth with scoring opportunities for both teams, until Sun County capitalized and finished the game with a score of 2-1 in their favour.
