2002 Team Gets Invite to Buffalo
On the weekend of Jan 17th to the 19th the 2002's are heading to Buffalo to play in the The North American Cup Invitational. This tournament will bring together the best 2002 tournament lineup of the year. 12 teams from Canada and 12 from the USA will faceoff in Buffalo NY.
The invite list is the who's who of the 2002 age group. All 12 teams fall in the top 22 with 8 of the top 10 going to be there. Many of the top 10 US teams will be attending as well. Windsor will take on #5 ranked Chicago Young Americans, #6 ranked South Shore Kings, 23rd ranked Bay State Breakers and the Buffalo Saints in round robin.
Head Coach Jeff Pawluk's comments about this tournament are " I am so pround of where this team has come in 3 short years, to be invited to play in such an exclusive tournament shows how far this team has come through hard work and a great support group of parents." He goes on further to say " in Atom we could not have dreamed that our Windsor team would get an invite like this but after some success last year and a team that just keep gets better and climbing the MyHockey Rankings we are lucky enough to get the call, now we have to go prove we belong!"
