The Windsor Spitfires 98 team will be hosting a two game home stand against the St Petersburg Locomotiv - GAZPROMBANK Team. The games will be played in the Central Park Athletics at 3400 Grand Marais Rd E, Windsor. This will be an exciting weekend where families have volunteered to billet the Russian players in their own homes.
One of the key purposes for the Russian team coming here is to promote Good Will and foster the relationship between Russia and North America (US and Canada). Thus, the social aspects of this trip with players interaction off the ice are equally important as the hockey games themselves. The Russians will make a film about their trip and, intend to broadcast it on their National TV.
Game times are 12:00 noon on Saturday August 24 and Sunday August 25.
