2015 Silver Stick Champions
The Windsor Jr. Spitfires Midget AAA team went undefeated and capped off their run with wins over consecutive Michigan opponents to win the 2015 International Silver Stick Tournament in Sarnia.  On Sunday, the Spitfires defeated previously unbeaten Little Caesars 4-1 in the semifinals and then took care of the Michigan Nationals 6-3 in the championship.

Windsor started the tournament on a very strong note by beating the London Jr. Knights, their chief rival in Alliance league-play. They followed with a shutout win over Shattuck-St. Mary’s and moved to 3-0 with a win over Halton before tying Brampton to finish the round-robin with a 3-0-1 record.

The tournament victory will give the team added confidence heading into the final few games of the Alliance regular-season. They currently sit in first-place in the league standings with a record of 26-6, two points ahead of London. The two teams will play in Windsor on Friday night in a game that will likely decide first seed heading into Playdowns.

Fans are encouraged to come out and watch a well-coached team that plays with quality and character, and have enjoyed great success throughout the season.
