Feeding Haiti
On Saturday, June 27th, the Midget Minor team got together and volunteered their time to help package meals for those in need in Haiti.
The event sponsored by combined efforts of Enable Haiti, No Child Hungry, and Ground Effects, was a huge success. With the help of over 600 volunteers including the hardworking Midget Minor AAA team, we were able to package over 120,000 meal packs. These will be shipped to Haiti and distributed to those who are dire need of help.
The event’s goal was to complete 100,000 meal packs, but with the help of the boys and the other volunteers, they easily surpassed that target.
The boys showed up early and had their game faces on, ready to get right to work. Their efforts will result in saving the lives of unfortunate Haitians who are dying of hunger.
It was a great day for all, and the boys clearly understood the need to help out, give back, and have a greater appreciation for some of things that we all may sometimes take for granted.
As they are working out hard in preparation for the upcoming season, it was fantastic that they were able to still find a way to volunteer their time for those who are less fortunate.
