With over 16 years of coaching experience, Jeff Pawluk brings a deep passion for player development and a wealth of knowledge to our U18 AAA team. A former high-level player himself, Jeff’s hockey journey began in Windsor where he competed at the AAA level before moving on to the OHL with teams such as the Guelph Storm and Belleville Bulls. His career even extended into the professional ranks, where he proudly captured a Professional championship, winning the WPHL President’s Cup with the Shreveport Mudbugs in Louisiana—a personal highlight of his playing days.
As a coach, Jeff has led teams within the Windsor AAA system, A21 Academy, and WMHA, and has even had the unique opportunity to coach at the professional level for a brief stint. His proudest accomplishments as a coach come not from trophies, but from helping players advance to junior hockey—a testament to his commitment to long-term development. With Jeff's many contacts around the hockey world he will be able to open doors in Jr B Jr A across Canada, OHL and USA Jr leagues like the NAHL where Jeff scouted for years.
Coach Jeff holds a D1 certification and is working on HP1 and believes strongly that “development is number one.” His coaching philosophy centers on cultivating skilled, well-rounded hockey players by emphasizing individual skill development, hockey IQ, and consistent effort. He conducts weekly skill practices and ensures players understand not just how to play, but why they’re playing a certain way. Intensity, structure, and mentorship are key pillars of his coaching style. Jeff has attended many Coaching clinics including most recently being invited to the NHLCA Coaching seminar.
Players and families under Coach Jeff should expect high standards, clear expectations, and a supportive environment where hard work is both demanded and rewarded. He values athletes who are driven, coachable, and eager to push themselves in practice. Coaches under Jeff have already moved on to Jr leagues and look to do that more with the excellent staff he is putting together.
Inspired by his son and encouraged by his wife to step behind the bench, Jeff also credits his father as his biggest hockey influence. A lifelong Detroit Red Wings fan, he brings both professionalism and enthusiasm to every rink he enters. A fun fact: Grew up playing Forward, played forward in OHL but played Pro as Defencemen. Also figure skated and was working on double axel when he quit.
We’re thrilled to have Coach Jeff Pawluk leading our U18 AAA program, where his focus on development, passion for the game, and proven track record of preparing players for the next level will undoubtedly have a lasting impact.
