U12 & U14 Weekend Update
Great weekend for the U12 and U14 teams. First The U14 team was host to the Alliance Face-off Showcase.
U14 Coach Shaun Ashton writes:
"
This past weekend the Windsor AAA Zone hosted the U14 showcase. All 12 teams in the league were in town to play 4 games over the course of the weekend. The arena was packed all weekend by family, friends, players and coaches. The U14 had a great weekend capturing 6 of 8 points. The team opened up the weekend Friday night, defeating Kitchener 3-0. Saturday, the team defeated Brantford 3-1 and Hamilton 4-1. Sunday the team lost a hard fought game against the defending OHF Champions Huron Perth Lakers 5-2. The team was down 3-2 going into the third period, and just couldn't capitalize to close the gap. The success of the weekend was attributed to the overall commitment to team defence, wearing teams down in the third with our conditioning, and the great goaltending of Anderson Camilleri and Cruz Goncalves.
The team currently sits at 4-1-1 in league play with a team GAA of 1.83."
U12 Coach Shawn Zivanov writes:
"The Windsor AAA Zone U12s had a record of four wins and two losses to finish second out of 16 teams at the CCM Motown Classic Tournament in the Detroit area on October 21 - 23, 2022. The team faced the Sun County Panthers in an all-Canadian tournament final, losing by one goal in the last minute of the game.
Keep up the hard work, boys!"
