The 2009 U14s travelled to Hamilton this past weekend for the 30th annual Hamilton Bulldogs Tournament.
The team went into the tournament well prepared, well conditioned and determined. The team came out of the gates on fire, going 3-0-1 in pool play, with wins over Ottawa 67s 3-0, 5-0 vs Clarington, 4-1 over Markham, and a 1-1 tie vs Hamilton. The team finished as the #1 seed after pool play out of the 17 team group. The team continued their hard work into Sunday's knockout stage, beating Rochester Americans 2-1 in the quarters, 5-3 win over the Soo Greyhounds in the semi finals, setting up a finals vs the host team, Hamilton Jr Bulldogs.
In a hard fought game, the boys came out on top, beating the host 3-0 and capturing the championship. Special shout out to Jack Wadsworth who was awarded the Finals MVP, and our two outstanding goalies, Cruz Gonzalves and Anderson Camilleri, who combined for a 0.86 goals against and 3 shutouts throughout the tournament.
