Jr Spitfires Shine at U16 and U18 Prospects Games in Komoka
This past Sunday, the Jr Spitfires proudly sent a group of outstanding young players to represent the organization at the U16 and U18 Prospects Games in Komoka. Their participation showcased the talent and dedication within the Jr Spitfires program and highlighted the bright future of these athletes.

Jr Spitfires Representatives

U16 Prospects

  • Forwards: Reid Hayes, Jack Wadsworth
  • Defensemen: Reid Ashton, Luke St. John
    Emmitt Mather was selected but unable to play due to injury.

U18 Prospects

  • Forwards: Cooper Woodman, Liam Thiessen, Drew Ferenc, Dacian Pillon-Vandenbogaerde
  • Defensemen: Joey Gaudet, Lucas Pougnet
    Gavin Gaudet was selected but unable to play due to injury.

In addition to the players, a special acknowledgment goes to Mike Heikkinen and Chad Boucher, Jr Spitfires coaches who were selected to lead one of the teams at the U18 Prospects Game.


U16 AAA Prospects Game Recap

The U16 Prospects Game delivered thrilling hockey action, with Team White dominating early. A fast-paced first period saw Team White take a commanding 2-0 lead. The momentum carried into the second period as Team White added two more goals to extend their lead to 4-0 heading into the final frame.

Team Navy fought back in the third period, scoring a goal of their own, but Team White held strong to secure a 4-1 victory. Jr Spitfires players Reid Hayes, Jack Wadsworth, Reid Ashton, and Luke St. John were integral in the high-energy matchup, representing their organization with pride and determination.


U18 AAA Prospects Game Recap

The U18 Prospects Game featured an incredible display of end-to-end hockey and excellent goaltending from both teams, keeping the first period scoreless. Team White broke the deadlock in the second period, netting two goals to take a 2-0 lead into the third.

Team Navy cut the deficit with a goal early in the final period, but Team White answered back with three more goals, closing out the game with an impressive 5-1 victory.

Player of the Game

Jr Spitfires forward Cooper Woodman (#19, Team White) was named Player of the Game for his exceptional performance. His ability to impact the game offensively and inspire his teammates was a standout moment of the weekend.
