The Windsor Minor Midget AAA Team had a great showing at the 2019 Face-Off Showcase in Woodstock this past weekend, going 2-1-0 against three great opponents.
After going down 2 goals in the first minute of the Showcase (yes, first minute!), the team rallied back to win the game 4-3 over a strong Huron-Perth side. The next morning, they went out and left no doubt as they dominated in a 3-0 win over a solid Brantford squad. In the third and final game of the weekend, the team lost 4-2 to 1st place Waterloo, including an empty-netter goal. Despite the loss, Windsor showed that they belong with the “big boys” in the league. Following the Face-Off weekend, Windsor is now home for 10 of the remaining 11 regular season games. The All-Star Game on Sunday showcased many of the league’s top players, including 3 of our very deserving players (although many more could have been there). Some teams had as many as 8 players in the game, while we only had 3. Regardless, Gavin Grundner, Owen Findlay and Brendan Gouin represented Windsor well in the game. Brendan scored 2 goals, while Gavin and Owen each played a great game as well. Congrats guys!
