The U10 AAA Spits travelled to Peterborough to take part in the Pat Larock Memorial Tournament.
The Spitfires kicked off it's season with a weekend of full of hockey, fishing, swimming and campfires. Great weather and a great weekend of hockey saw the Spits battle against 3 of the top 4 teams in the tournament.
Game 1 vs the hometown Peterborough Petes ended with a furious 3rd period comeback. With the team 4-0 in the third, the offence woke up and scored 3 unanswered goals to get within 1. An open net and a barrage of shots in the dying moments wasn't enough as the Spits lost their first game of the season 4-3.
Game 2 & 3 vs Hamilton and Kingston. These teams ended up playing each other in the finals. Tough hardfought games led to a 12-1 and 7-2 losses.
Game 3 vs Ajax. The fourth game of the tournament was against a team that needed to win to make the playoffs. They came out flying and had The Spits down early. Battling right until the end saw the Spits scored a couple goals in the third period to finish the game with a 10-2 loss.
