London Compuware Recap
It was the 4th and final meeting between the Spitfires and the London Knights on Saturday, two teams that were both vying for top spot in the West.

This one took place at Central Park Arena and the outcome could have been better for the Spits. The Knights came into this contest looking as though they had something to prove and took it to the home team from the drop of the puck. By the end of the first period the Spits has started to match the Knights intensity and looked to be gaining some momentum. The two teams traded 2 goals apiece and at the end of the first it was 2-2.

From there the game started to slip away from the Spits as the Knights turned on the after burners and began to take control scoring 3 unanswered goals to take the 5-2 lead and the win. The Spits worked hard all game but just couldn’t crack the Knights defense. Tough loss for the squad who will be looking to regroup on Sunday in an exhibition game against Compuware.

On Sunday the venue was the Big Bowl at the WFCU center where the Spits hosted  a cross border contest with Compuware. This one was a good showing for the Spits as they started the scoring early in the first and didn’t let up until the game was over. The boys had their legs on this day and by the end of the game the Spits offensive attack proved to be too much for the visitors who fell by a score of 7-3. A well rounded effort from all the players and a solid outing from both goaltenders lead to the victory.

The Spits are now off until next weekend when they will have 2 key inner division games against both Lambton and Chatham.

 Great weekend fellas!!
