Concussion Education and Prevention With CEPA
Wednesday October 8th was testing day for the Atom Major Jr. Spitfires as the boys underwent a series of examinations geared towards concussion prevention and head injury awareness.

This was a joint effort between CEPA (Concussion Education and Prevention Agency) and the ’04 Spitfires in an effort to establish baseline concussion tests for each player.

The team was put through various medical screenings in a controlled environment which included neuropsychological and neurocognitive examinations. Along with memory and balance tests all geared towards helping each player (and parent) gain some further knowledge into what a concussion is…and what protocol should be applied in the event of an injury. Raising the level of head injury awareness was the goal and no doubt everyone left the event feeling as if they have a clearer understanding of the ever-increasing role that concussions and head injuries play in our sport.

And the boys got together to have a little fun too!!

We are very proud of the boys for participating in this event and wish them the best of luck this season!
